It has been extremely
dry in the Chicagoland area since August 2004. Watering
lawns, shrubs, bushes and trees is necessary for survival.
From now until Thanksgiving, watering regularly is highly
recommended!!!
-
Aerate lawns for maximum water
penetration.
-
Remove dead or
dying plants and all weeds that are competing for available
water.
-
Loosen the soil
around plants occasionally and use a good quality mulch to keep
the moisture to your plantings.
-
Prune/trim trees
and shrubs to maximize their health while reducing unnecessary
growth. Make sure your cutting instruments are kept clean
and sharp.
-
Sharpen lawn
mower blades for the best and most effective mowing.
Blades should be sharpened 2-3 times per year. Replace
blades as necessary.
-
Repair all water leaks on hose couplings
or faucets.
-
In-ground
irrigations systems are available for any size yard. A
proper irrigation system will be able to take care of your lawn
plus all plantings. These systems will also have timers.
-
Use a broom or
blower on sidewalks and driveways instead of using the hose.
-
When washing the
car, use a hose nozzle. Make sure the water is not running
needlessly.
-
Use pool covers to reduce evaporation.
We are available 12
months a year to answer any and all questions you may have.
